Henning von Bauer, LCSW
Psychotherapist

Over 22 years of experience working as a therapist; in-home family, in school, outpatient and community- based practice, with youth, adults, families. I’ve always worked with a wide variety of people, facing a broad range of symptom challenges, often more severe and complex. For the past 5 years I have been doing community - based work with PROPs (15-25 year olds experiencing first episode psychosis) and CCS GROW (adults with more severe symptoms) at Journey MHC. I am trauma informed and can provide compassionate support for people working through complex relational and personal issues.

Meeting people where they are, is the first step in therapy. I try to connect by listening openly, observing carefully, reflecting mindfully and then collaborating to figure out what can help most effectively. Therapy tools I draw on are from mindfulness, CBT, DBT, solution focused, Internal Family Systems, MI. I am comfortable supporting people with co- occurring substance use, mood disorders, anxiety and depression, gender and other identity issues, partner and parenting stress. I am an avid fitness practitioner and cook and enjoy supporting people in developing exercise and wellness habits.
